The space: Sweet Martha’s came to us through one of our favorite architect partners to bid on their new – and third – location at the Minnesota State Fair. To be selected to work with this iconic brand was thrilling!
Our work: It was a unique experience to work on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. They operate as their own little mini-entity, so all plan reviews, approvals and permitting was done directly through the Fair. The deadline for this project was non-negotiable, so stringent timelines on each portion of the project were essential in order to guarantee an on-time delivery. We had the building pre-fabricated off-site with the exterior finishes already applied to ensure that we could meet the aggressive schedule.
The Results: We’re thrilled with how this project turned out, and that so many people were able to enjoy cookies from the new location during the fair! Our favorite spot is the bite window on the side of the building where patrons can check out all the baking. Plus, Sweet Martha is one of the sweetest people we know. She brought Superintendent Kevin a cake on his birthday and cookies for our crew. A nifty project with a dynamite client – it doesn’t get much better than that!
