Especially for Children has offered child care programs for infants, toddlers and preschool-age kids since 1976. Owned and operated by a local Twin Cities family, the organization gives children a safe, supportive and creative learning environment while providing families with a caring community.
Over the last two decades, we’ve been Especially for Children’s go-to source for construction services, helping to create the right atmosphere for learning at each of its eight centers. We’re proud of this longstanding relationship—as well as the chance to work with an organization that means so much to so many.
Our Approach
Throughout the years, we’ve helped Especially for Children with everything from large additions and build-outs to small remodeling projects. One of the more recent projects we’ve worked on is the expansion of its Circle Pines center. We also recently expanded one of the Edina locations, a center we had relocated into a brand new space just a couple of years prior. One of these projects involved making tenant improvements in a new space; the other involved a building addition.
Our role is less of a general contractor and more of a design-build partner. We’re often heavily involved on the front end of a project, providing cost-benefit analyses and A/B plans as needed. Thanks to the history we have with this client, every project is a collaborative team effort.
The Results
It’s been a pleasure to work with Especially for Children, and our many years of experience with its centers have yielded a special understanding of the client’s needs. We look forward to helping this organization continue to care for future generations!
