When Steve Day began his career in the construction industry, he didn’t take the traditional route of working for a general contractor. Steve went straight to the corporate environment as an owner’s agent for Pizza Hut, Boston Market, SpinCycle Coin Laundry and Charles Schwab. He spent 15 years assembling and overseeing teams to represent those companies — ensuring that the construction processes, materials, timelines and quality aligned with his employer’s brand and user experience. In the early 2000s, Steve was instrumental in helping Charles Schwab reinvent its brand through a new investor center prototype design.

Steve brings that same understanding of client expectations and end users to SullivanDay Construction. After working for five years with founder John Sullivan to learn every aspect of running a construction company, Steve became owner and president in 2012. He gained skills in management and operations, human resources, marketing and business development. He led growth of the restaurant, retail and veterinary medical niches while supporting SullivanDay’s foundation in financial services, education and special project construction. Today, he oversees corporate vision, talent development and nurturing client relationships as well as project management and new business.

Promoting a high level of responsibility within his team, Steve models the “gold standard” of construction — keeping promises, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations. He perceives every client as a partner so that each project brings mutual success and sustains the relationship. Whether he is breaking ground with an ambitious franchisee or representing a sophisticated Fortune 500 firm, Steve takes his role as general contractor, owner’s agent or consultant as seriously as if the brand were his own…because it is.
