Based in Mendota Heights, industrial contractor Alltech Engineering has served clients ranging from single-man shops to Fortune 500 companies since 1973. A lot of the work Alltech does involves installing and moving heavy machinery—it’s very unique! It’s also a family-owned and operated business, which we think is pretty great. So when Alltech hired us to lead the charge to expand their existing facility, we were excited to lend a hand.
Our Approach
Alltech’s goal was to create more space while updating the look and feel of its offices. By constructing new exterior walls and building out seven new offices, a conference room, a new bathroom, and a common area, we were able to add 2,500 square feet of space. Throughout the project we kept the Alltech team up to date on our work schedule, which was key to keeping their operations intact.
Because of the way Alltech’s existing building was configured, transitioning its existing systems into the new space proved challenging. We were also working with large trusses, so there wasn’t much room for the lighting and sprinkler systems. With highly planned, detail-focused coordination with the electrical, mechanical, and sprinkler contractors, we were able to fit everything in and achieve the ceiling height Alltech needed.
The Results
We started the project in August 2015, and, despite having to postpone some elements of work due to weather, we had Alltech into the space on schedule (by early November). With a new and improved facility, Alltech is poised to continue its longstanding tradition of being a leader in the industrial contracting industry.
