In the spring of 2012, SullivanDay was chosen to construct a state-of-the-art showroom for Kohler in Edina. The showroom opening coincided with a national event during which the president of Kohler would visit the Edina location. Showcasing Kohler fixtures and products in natural bath and kitchen settings made this one of our most challenging and favorite projects to date. We completed the project in eight weeks.
Our Approach
Kohler wanted to feature not only its line of faucets and showerheads, but also tile, lighting, high-end sinks, bathtubs and toilets. Intended for designers and high-net-worth clients, the showroom featured several “finished” bathroom and kitchen concepts that people could experience as well as an A/V wall of televisions airing Kohler commercials. Some fixtures, such as in the shower display, needed to have working plumbing while others required unique mounting without plumbing. We scheduled delivery and installation of literally hundreds of fixtures in a few, short weeks. The finishes and products – from epoxy floors and subway tile to glass and reclaimed barn wood – required a keen eye for detail as though constructed in a multi-million dollar dream home. We also had regular consults and reporting with the corporate team.
Results
The Kohler showroom is an impressive centerpiece for sales and events. The president and corporate team were pleased with the results at the grand opening. Management chooses our team to change out products in the showroom as Kohler design and technology evolves.
